What evening meal do you provide for Racing Staff?

Food is provided in the on-site canteen in Hunters Lodge where we provide meals all day up to an hour after the last race. A voucher for a complimentary meal is issued by the Stable Manager to all racing staff with a runner.

What type of food does the Racing Staff Canteen offer?

A full English breakfast is offered from 8am – 12.30pm, then lunch up to an hour after last race.

Roast beef, lasagne, cottage pie, sausages, chicken & mushroom pie or minced beef & onion pie, served with chips, roast or mash potatoes, mixed vegetables or baked beans.

Vegetarian Options – Jacket potatoes, cheese & onion pasties, salad, homemade coleslaw, cheese and or beans.

There is also a selection of ham, tuna, egg & cheese sandwiches.

Is food available all day?

Yes, menu as above.

Is there anything else you’d like to let Racing Staff know about the food and refreshments?

There is a facility for free tea and coffee available to racing staff within the stables. Except when meal vouchers are used, tea/coffee and drinks are not free in the Hunters Lodge canteen, this is due to the fact that non-stable staff use it. NB: At busy serving times, stable staff do have priority.

Where is the staff accommodation located on the racecourse?

Stable staff are accommodated in Hunters Lodge which is located next to the stables.

How many rooms does the racecourse provide?

31 rooms, which sleep up to 4 people. When possible stable staff are accommodated as they wish.

What Best Turned out awards do you offer?

BTOs are offered for all races with the prize either being £150 cash or equivalent value in a voucher to spend at a sponsoring outlet, at the moment it’s HiHo Silver.
