National Minimum and National Living Wages from April 2022

The Government has announced increases in the National Living and National Minimum Wages effective from April 2022.  These affect Scales 1 – 5 of the NJC wage agreement as follows:

Age 23 and over
National Living Wage effective April 2022 £9.50 (current racing minimum £9.00)

Aged 21 – 22 
National Minimum Wage effective April 2022 £9.18 (current racing minimum £8.45)

Aged 18 – 20 
National Minimum Wage effective April 2022 £6.83 (current racing minimum £6.60)

Aged 16/17 
NMW effective April 2022 £4.81 (current racing minimum £4.70 for Scale 1 trainees; Scale 2 – 5 is £5.50 so not directly affected).
